Ondo APC leaders disagree on local government elections

APCStakeholders in the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) have been sharply divided on whether the party should participate in the April 23, local governments elections.
They expressed their opinions at the party Leaders’ Consultative meeting held at Akure city hall, the state Capital.
The meeting also united most of the party leaders, including governorship aspirants, as they all stormed the venue.
In his address, the State chairman of the party, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke described the election as illegal and sham, which was meant to trap the APC ahead of the governorship election late this year.
Kekemeke, particularly, accused members of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) of being members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The chairman said, “Our participation or otherwise has been thoroughly discussed at the Central working committee, the state executive committee and the expanded executive.
“The conclusion reached was that the election is a shame meant to trap our party. It is an illegal ‘election’ about to be conducted when there is a subsisting case on the matter at the Supreme court.
