PDP denies portal, says online registration of members yet to commence

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says it is yet to commence the proposed online registration of members, even as it urged Nigerians to discountenance a “fake” online portal www.pdpmembership.org/register; reuesting the registeration of members of the party through an electronically guided form.

The party leadership made this clarification in a statement issued on Saturday by Richard Ihediwa, the Special Assistant to the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh.

Stressing that the said online site had nothing to do with any level of the party, PDP assured that it will adequately and officially inform the public through its relevant organs once it was ready for such.

The statement reads, “We therefore caution all PDP members, teeming supporters and the general public to take note and not patronize this fake online registration portal ostensibly set up by fraudsters to dupe the unsuspecting public.

“Already, the leadership of our great party is contacting relevant security agencies for a comprehensive investigation to unravel those behind this criminal act.”
