The jilted wife then drags the poor woman by her hair and even slaps and stamps on her in full view of the public.

The infuriated woman then berates the young victim, who she accuses of having an affair with her cheating husband.

According to What's On Weibo, she asks the woman: "Do you not recognise me?"

In the clip, the suspected mistress shields her face with her hands and refuses to fight back during the violent ordeal.

Traffic was also brought to a standstill as cars struggled to make their way through the chaos.

The crying victim lies helplessly on the ground while others cheer on the attack and take pictures on their homes.


The attack, which took place in Bozhou, east China’s Anhui province, has gone viral and provoked a debate across social media over who is to blame for the public beating.

The video has been widely shared on social networking site Weibo.

Many users on the Chinese equivalent of Facebook and Twitter said the attacker was in the wrong for victimising the suspected mistress.
