Super Falcons defender, Osinachi Ohale, has boasted that Nigeria’s next group opponents at the ongoing Africa Women Cup of Nations(AWCON), Ghana and Kenya, are marked for demolition in the remaining group B matches.
The Awaka-Owerri, Imo state-born defender, who plays for Rivers Angels in a chat from Limbe, Cameroon, said that the players have resolved to do everything possible to keep a clean sheet in this year’s edition of the AWCON, and possibly create a seemingly impossible record.
“Tell Nigerians that we are here to create a new record by the grace of God. As you can see we have started on a good note and I don’t see anything stopping us. Possibly we can finish this tournament without conceding a goal, and I believe it will be an unforgettable record, which may take other countries some time to equal.”
The Falcons assistant captain, who has also played professional football in America added that the players are in the best frame of mind as there is great team spirit.
“You need to experience the atmosphere and relationship here in our camp. We do virtually everything together. Our coaches have actually done enough to instill discipline in us. So tell our people back home that by the grace of God, we shall come back home “in style” with the trophy for the record 8th times.
Four goals from the boots of Asisat Oshoala and one each from Francisca Ordega and Uchechi Sunday, against Mali, ensured that the Super Falcons began the AWCON title defence on a beautiful note.
