PC Crisis: I Will Remain On Tinubu’s Side – Ashafa

Senator representing Lagos East senatorial district,  Gbenga Ashafa has vowed to remain on the side of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all times no matter the challenges the former Lagos governor may be going through.
Ashafa made the disclosure on Thursday during the annual thanksgiving and award ceremony for leaders of the party in the zone in Lagos. He admitted that the outgoing 2016 was a challenging year for the party
He said, “I, Senator Gbenga Ashafa and the people of Lagos-east senatorial zone   would remain with our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in every circumstance.”
He also  stressed that Tinubu has done a lot for the country and should be accorded the regard and respect he deserves as a statesman and nation builder.
He urged the people of the zone to exercise caution in taking any political decision which they will regret tomorrow. “Don’t be in a hurry to take any decision, Don’t read unnecessary body language but wait until you are told what to do by our leader”.
“If today, Tinubu should call me and said, Ashafa come back from the senate because you have done enough there, I will graciously obey and return.”
On the bill for a special status for Lagos which was initially rejected in the senate, Ashafa promised to co-operate with Senator Remi Tinubu to ensure that the senate reconsiders the bill and pass it in the new year.
“I and Senator Solomon Adeola representing Lagos West would co-operate with Remi Tinubu in representing the bill at the senate next year”.
Ashafa commended party leaders from the zone for their support and confidence in his ability to provide qualitative representation at the senate.
