RANSOM: Abductors Of Ondo Ex-Speaker Demand N20m


Abductors of the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan, has demanded N20 million ransom.
It was gathered from a source who preferred not to be mentioned that the hoodlums had established contact with the family to demand N20 million before the former speaker could be released.
According to the source , Olabimtan’s driver popularly called “Agba,” who was kidnapped along with him, was freed after some hours by the abductors .
Olabimtan’s kidnapped came barely 48 hours after he addressed journalists and declared his intention to run for the gubernatorial ticket of the APC in the coming governorship election in the state.
The former lawmaker was kidnapped on his way from Akure to Abuja by fake solders who flagged down his vehicle at a military checkpoint in Kwali, Abuja
The Secretary of Olabimtan Campaign Organisation, Mr. Gboyega Ajayi, who confirmed the incident to journalists on phone, said the abductors in army uniform stopped his vehicle for check but instead took him away. He added that the police authorities in Abuja are currently on the trail of the kidnappers.
When our correspondent visited Olabimtan’s Alagbaka house in Akure, the state capital, his family members declined to speak to journalists.
